We thought long and hard about a better system over last year. Due to the extremely long queues and disappointment of those that traveled from afar and couldn’t get in, we felt a ticketed system where you pre-register online would be better. With certain time windows throughout the evening, it would mean things won’t be so crowded. The nominal charge of £1 (plus booking fee) per person was necessary to help with some of the large costs we have moving to a bigger site, such as cleaners, security, health and safety measures etc. It’s not ideal – we know, but for your safety it was necessary to implement a system like this.

Why is there now a ticket for entry?
It's a month of worship, why do this?
From earlier years when the chaos and congestion caused issues for local people further down the Coventry Road, we knew that after prayers people already flock to local restaurants and food-sellers. We are just providing a safer, more organised space for people to eat and drink in the evening. Let’s not forget the newspaper headline of ‘Ramadan Market from Hell’, we once had. That was the final straw for us, something had to be done.
Can I refund/exchange my ticket?
We operate a no refunds policy. If you are required to exchange your ticket, please advise a member of our staff upon entry who will provide support.
Why are there time slots?
To manage the crowds, we had to put limited numbers onto the time slots, so things are less crowded and queues shouldn’t be so long
Is this event suitable for families?
We will have security staff for the duration of the event each evening, and throughout the night. when the site is closed We are doing our best to make our event family friendly and safe for all. But don’t forget, some of our nights fall on school nights, so please remember kids need to go to school the next day! ‘But Sir i was at Ramadan Streets’ isn’t going to work!
Is there parking available?
Please don’t be that guy who parks on pavements! We have zero tolerance for those who park foolishly. Whilst we don’t have onsite parking, there is parking available nearby in St. Andrews retail park next to the site which has free parking We advise that you share a ride with someone or use public transport where possible.
Can I park on the pavement?
No. We ask you to park properly and respectfully, so please don’t be that guy! We will be looking out for foolish parking.
Can I come if I am not Muslim and haven't been fasting?
Of course! We are inviting people of all background and faith to come along. This event is not just for those who have been fasting; if you just fancy a smash burger at night, we say ‘Ahlan Wa Sahlan!’ You’re welcome!
Do I have to pay to come to the event?
This year we have decided to create a nominal ticket fee of £1 (plus £1 booking fee) per person. This is to allow us to manage the queues and keep you experience at Ramadan Streets smooth and enjoyable.
Will there be space to sit down and eat my food?
We have a limited covered seating area where you are welcome to try to squeeze in. We do advise wrap up warm, like you would for the German markets in town! Stand around with friends and keep moving is the best advise!
Is there limited capacity?
Unlike like last year, we have a much larger space, which means things won’t be as tight. We heard all the feedback of ‘need bigger site’. So we listened as best as we could and worked with Birmingham City Football Club to use a car park of theirs. We have devised a ticketed range of timed slots that you need to pre-register for, just to manage crowds and queueing times better.
Can I take pictures and video?
You are most welcome to film and photograph. Please be respectful not to directly film people who may not wish to be filmed. Please use your own judgement and be as respectful as you can!
I have a food/artisan business, how do I become a vendor?
We have limited spaces for both street food and artisan vendors. We have had to be selective to ensure we have a good variety of stalls with a high standard that reflects the landscape of our city. Please don’t take it personal if you were not successful!
Are there any provisions for prayer?
This year we are creating a dedicated space for people to pray. We of course, encourage you to use the local mosques, you’re in Small Heath, so no shortage of mosques. The nearest is 5 minute away away!
Are there any toilet facilities?
We have a number of toilets available on the stadium grounds. But wudhu might be tricky, so try to make it in advance (and hold onto it!)
What time does the event start?
The space will be open to the public from 5.30pm until 11.30pm every day.
Can I drive up and down Coventry Road and rev my engine?
If that’s why you are coming, then do us all a favour and book yourself a go-kart session to relieve yourself.
Is the food affordable?
We want to make it easy for everybody. We have requested for the vendors that they provide some affordable options. We are doing our best to look after you all.
