An Evening of Spiritual Hindustani Classical Music with Ustad Muhammad Hanif Khan
Presented by Soul City Arts & University of Warwick’s Institute of Advanced Study
We were honoured to welcome world-renowned flautist Ustad Muhammad Hanif Khan to Port Hope, Sparkbrook, for a deeply moving evening of Hindustani classical music.
A leading figure in Pakistan’s classical music scene, Ustad Hanif Khan had performed at major festivals, conferences, and academies across the country. His musical journey began under the tutelage of Pandit Chandan Das, and later expanded into the ancient Dhrupad tradition. The result was a unique and soulful blend of Dhrupad and Khayal, rooted in deep emotional expression.
Guests joined us at our intimate arts centre for a rare opportunity to experience the mastery of one of world music’s most profound and spiritual voices.
